Hi there! I've joined the May Day Weight Loss Challenge at Tales from the Scales and created this blog to record my weight loss.
I have been doing Weight Watchers (WW) on my own for a few months but was looking for some additional support and inspiration. That's why I was so happy to find the Weight Loss Challenge. I'm exited to hear from the other competitors and read your blogs too!
Weigh In - Tuesday 5/8/07
168.6 lbs
WEIGHT HISTORY: At my heaviest I was probably around 182 lbs. The lowest that I can remember being was 135 lbs - that was when I graduated high school 11 years ago. My weight has just kept going up since then.
GOALS: lose 25 lbs by the end of this challenge and then get pregnant. I want to take care of myself and be in control of my weight first.
WEAKNESSES:
My biggest weaknesses are eating out and controlling myself in social situations. My husband and I used to eat out 2-3 times during the week and then go out on the weekends with family or friends. We really don't go out during the week anymore. When we do we are trying to make it a treat. It was happening so often that it wasn't even fun anymore. Eating at other people's houses continues to be challenging.
INDIVIDUAL FOOD WEAKNESSES:
anything containing sugar
Asian foods (dumplings, pad thai, egg rolls, etc)
coke
cheese
pizza
fried foods
PLAN:
Drink water - I hate water but just need to drink it.
Exercise - I signed up for a Kickboxing class that meets 2 times a week this summer. It starts May 29th. I also want to start walking or bike riding on the other days.
Online Journal - keep track of my food intake and count WW points using this blog.
Choose responsibly - When there's an array of food, pick something that I won't feel guilty about the next day.
Prepare - I work a lot of nights and I need to plan out lunches and dinners for my husband and I for the week.

Oh - you are SO doing the right thing by trying to lose before you get pregnant. Good luck to you! I'm in the challenge too and I'm looking forward to doing this "together"!
